Our Corporate Sustainability Initiatives

The ongoing conversation about sustainability in the insurance industry is driven by the urgent challenges of climate change. The rising frequency and severity of catastrophic weather events makes sustainability vital to our industry and the communities we serve.

As a result, we view minimizing our organizational impact on the environment not only as a business imperative but also as a societal one. Across our company, we have embraced the innovation and foresight needed to reduce our environmental impact and ensure a viable future for generations to come.

Reducing Our Energy Footprint

We designed Westfield buildings, including our data center and home office, with state-of-the-art equipment and technology that reduce energy needs and waste. Moreover, we use electricity generated from renewable sources like solar, hydro, and wind power. We also have multiple departments collaborating to monitor and lessen our environmental impact, enabling us to take a more thoughtful and thorough approach to energy efficiency.

Diverting Waste From Landfills

With designated recycling containers for glass, aluminum, and plastic, Westfield makes it easy for employees to make better waste disposal choices. Additionally, there has been an intentional effort to reduce paper usage, including an increase in digital communications and double-sided printing. When printing cannot be avoided, Westfield shreds and recycles any paper waste.

Prioritizing Employee Health

A clean workplace is important for employee health, but some cleaning processes are potentially harmful to public health, as well as the environment. At Westfield, we use eco-friendly products whenever possible and Green-certified vacuums to help protect our employees and improve air quality.
