Ed Largent
Ed Largent currently serves as the President, CEO & Board Chair of Westfield, stewarding the 176-year-old firm into the future.
Ed has been with Westfield for over 38 years, holding a series of progressive leadership positions, including Chief Technology Officer and Group Administration Leader. In 2011, he was named President, CEO in 2015 and in 2016 elected Board Chair of Ohio Farmers Insurance Company, the parent company of Westfield Insurance, Westfield Specialty Ltd, Westfield Bank, FSB and 1848 Ventures LLC.
Throughout his career, Ed has been a champion of progress at Westfield, including evolving the Westfield Culture, championing DEI, advancing Data & Analytics capabilities, and expanding the P&C business from a regional standard lines P&C carrier to a global P&C writer with the launch of Westfield Specialty in 2021 in the US and expansion into the international specialty market via the acquisition of Lloyd’s of London Syndicate 1200 in 2023. Today, Westfield’s revenues are in excess of $3.2B, GAAP assets exceed $10 billion, and the company’s 3,000 employees enable the company’s Mission of peace of mind and financial stability for its customers.
Ed serves on the boards of a variety of trade associations, including the American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA), and The Institutes. In 2022, Ed was awarded The Griffith Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his commitment to risk management education and the missions of APCIA and The Institutes. He also serves on the non-profit boards of Playhouse Square Foundation and the Greater Cleveland Partnership.
Ed has a bachelor's in computer science from Bowling Green State University and is a 2008 graduate of the Executive Institute at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
