26 OCTOBER 2009: John A. Ekdahl, CIC, State Sales Manager Of Westfield Insurance Company RECEIVES THE IIAI 2009 COMPANY PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR AWARD

John A. Ekdahl, CIC, State Sales Manager for Westfield Insurance Company received the 2009 IIAI Company Professional of the Year Award. Ekdahl will be honored and recognized in an awards ceremony on November 14, 2009 at the IIAI Annual Convention. This award recognizes the achievements of an individual who is a professional with a member company of the IIAI and conducts the majority of his/her business in Indiana.

Ekdahl received high scores in demonstrating strong leadership abilities and willingness to assist independent agents in all areas of their business. He developed his role with agents based on goals, strategies and objectives that served both the agents and his company utilizing a “company ambassador” approach, including sharing knowledge, alignment of mission and vision, sharing knowledge, client referral process and customer nurturing and retention process, to list a few.

Ekdahl also received high scores for his outstanding performance through the IIAI and the independent agents that he serves, as well as for his involvement in community events and the legislative arena. The sponsor of this award is the IIAI Young Agents Committee.

The Independent Insurance Agents of Indiana is a trade association representing over 800 independent insurance agencies in the State of Indiana. The association was formed so insurance agents and insurance consumers have a unified voice in government and can share common goals and information. Among the numerous services IIAI provides to it’s membership are over 100 continuing education seminars across the state annually, offering over 30 property and casualty programs, and over 20 Life/Accident/Health self study programs. IIAI’s education opportunities provide increased knowledge and insurance license continuing education credits to independent insurance agents in Indiana.
