Westfield supports human service programs that empower people to take control of their lives to work toward positive change.

United Way

United Way is a national network of nearly 1,300 local organizations that work to advance the common good by focusing on education, income and health. These are the building blocks for a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health.

Local United Ways create long-lasting community change by addressing the underlying causes of the most significant local issues. Common focus areas include helping children and youth achieve their potential, promoting financial stability and independence, and improving people’s health. Our goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of problems.

The nonprofit agencies supported by United Way help people through emergencies, illness, disasters and other hardships. And perhaps more importantly, United Way and its partner agencies understand the importance of education. It’s the difference between giving a man a fish, so that he eats for a day, and teaching a man to fish, so he’ll never be hungry again.

Westfield also supports the United Way concept of giving because it is so similar to our values. United Way is a trusted advisor, much like the independent insurance agency system. United Way brings organizations together to provide the most comprehensive services to people in need.
